Paul is the best!
I couldn’t help notice the slate gray/purple color scheme throughout the lobby. It had a modern feel without it looking uncomfortable.
The velvet booths were super cushiony and soft. The barstools could have used a little cushion. And definitely not enough purse hooks at the bar. If you’re a girl and have a purse you need to hang, sit at the corners of the bar.
The balloons apparently don’t need to get filled as often as I thought. Every two weeks!
At the bar with some “toy”. Skeptical about that title. JOh was ecstatic when she saw it in the acrylic containers sitting atop the bar.
She shrieked and wanted to
sniff play with it. I’ve never seen it before. I was intrigued by it. Never even heard of it or saw anyone play with it during my childhood. Janie and JOh were ALL over it!
Look at what she did with it!
Janie’s work of art wasn’t so great. :P
I had to take this shot because if I were the bar manager, I wouldn’t want my patrons seeing sweat marks on my employees. The bartender was awesome, CJ or JR or something. Two letters for sure, maybe they should wear a dark denim buttonup as oppose to a light wash?
Dinner table… one of the Jonas brothers sitting behind Janie.
Hubby joined me for dinner and we stopped by Escala after.
I’d much rather have stayed at the Line Hotel. :(
Escala looked/felt like a dump after hanging out at the Pot Bar!
My first time dining with #DishCrawl and my opinion of this event is that it is a great way to meet new people without alcohol having to be the main focus.
Well, maybe for me it still was, but I kept my composure and actually had conversations with the other guests.
I met so many new friends last night, ones I hope to see again at the next event.
I was introduced to it by Mini the ambassador for #DishCrawl #Koreatown and although most of the guests that attended was expecting Korean food, they all seemed happy to have enjoyed other fantastic cuisines offered in #Ktown.
I met a group of girls who were celebrating a friend’s 40th birthday. Two guys that were writers/producers for a network show, some bloggers and USC grads.
It was a great mix of people and an amazing turnout.
The food offered at each restaurant was portioned well and with variety.
I wish my appetite wasn’t so small that I could eat a lot more, but I guess this is the price I pay for wanting to be skinny. :P
I tasted everything, ate more of the items I liked more.
Hello Italian was my favorite and it was sad to see that they weren’t that busy. I feel like the location is hidden and not visible to the public enough for it to be busy. Kind of like Chynna Dim Sum.
They apparently have a dinner special. Two entrees, one appetizer and a free bottle of wine for…I’m sorry I forgot how much.
They also have buy one bottle, get one free. Just how I like it! :)
Hope you get to check out the next DishCrawl next time!
Our first stop… such a cute place! Something you’d see in a Korean drama series.
I love mini bottles of champagne.
Walking down the steps from Hello~
Walking over to the second stop!
The manager explaining the dishes at #Concerto.
Waiting patiently for Bear…
Dinner time at Concerto~
Too bad I don’t have photos from #EscalaLA…
I couldn’t believe the transformation that it had gone through to make this place way more enjoyable! High ceilings and open floor plan with indoor/outdoor feel. Bohemien was a piece of crap and so not smart with utilizing their interior architectural design.
Good job to the Escala team for creating a great environment to want to hang out, eat, drink and be merry.
Now my only job is to go back and enjoy the food, for real this time.
I really enjoyed meeting new people and running into old friends. I even enjoyed overeating and overdrinking.
I can’t wait for the next one and I hope to throw an event like this in the future too!
Great job Mini!
For all food posts, please check out:
Our friend Hana was attending an opening reception for Werkartz and we decided to join in. Free booze and drink, I’m there!
We got there early and arrived in Uber of course, we were a bit lost but finally arrived.
Grabbed a drink, sat and talked. Tried to network but there were too many people and I only knew Hana, Joanna and Tina.
JO on her new iphone case from Korean. Ridiculously wrong, but so cute!
Our friend HANA…
The Werkartz Studio was amazing! And the people I did get to meet were too.
There was a wall covered in mirrors so of course we took #selfies!
Joanna & Tina!
All I ate at the party. :P
Phototime with the white backdrop!
Then we headed over to our usual late HH, EMC! Bottle (oh it was two) of rose.
And then, that happened. Dropped the toilet paper roll. Luckily I was able to get a handful before it fell!
Why so worried???
Short night out… I needed it.
Thursday fun days… Who would have thought? A innocent meeting with Jo to talk about our new blog turns into a night of awesome fun and being out til 4:30am.
We started at #EMCSeafood and topped off two bottles of Veuve.
We had our first round with a dozen oysters, scallop carpaccio, lobster rolls and zucchini fries. Jo ran into her CEO and he ended up taking care of our bill. Thank you, CEO! So we decided that we would go a second round. We got the uni pasta & clam chowder with another bottle of Veuve. :)
We weren’t that tossed. We were simply enjoying a delicious meal(s) with lots of bubbly.
Towards the end of the night, Jo called our other friend Nan and we went to this secret club. Ok, it’s not a secret club, I just didn’t know about it. :P
Honeycut! If you haven’t been, you’re missing out!
We danced all night and then went to karaoke in Ktown…
We partied. Hard. So hard, I fell asleep Friday (last night) at 8pm.
