Doing it WRONG

Apparently I am. Well, there is no right or wrong answer.

The past several years, I’ve always been the hostess with mostest because I enjoyed providing for my guests.
Throw a party. Have food, booze and cigs for everyone to indulge in.

What did I tell ya?
The cigs in the cup were the “special” cigs. And by “special” I mean my Capris and better cigs.
I was aiming with my girl J and she asked what I was going to be doing for my birthday and I simply and quickly answered nothing.
I told her I wanted to do a pool party at a hotel but it was over my budget. She offered to help like my hubby has been, but I was never one to enjoy my friends stressing over collecting money and taking care of the bill on MY birthday.
I’d rather not stress my friends out for coming out to celebrate my birthday because they are there for one sole reason, for my existence. And why should my friends feel obligated to think harder than they should when I should be thanking them for being in my life.
But my friend J made a point and said, “the birthday girl shouldn’t have to worry, just show up and have fun, that’s how we do it.”
And in that case, I understand it, but I don’t know, I just don’t like to burden people (except boyfriends).
So, I guess there is no right or wrong answer. Just a preference.
What do you do for your birthday?

  1. I had a bbq, drank, & planned a water fight.Everyone had a watergun and water balloons. That's all I wanted to do. So, no one spent a penny,Ate, & burned it off!:)What can I say…I'm such a kid at heart.
