This is how I spent most of my day after the New Year. We celebrated with family (post to be live soon, once I edit the video) and the next day was Monday which we had off.
I was in bed.
On NYE we drove to Scottsdale, Arizona for an engagement/NYE party. Bear’s college friend is having a small destination wedding so they decided to combine the celebration of the New Year and their commitment to each other.
We woke up early and headed east, but on the way we stopped by the outlets!
I blew my entire $500 gift from grandpa in an hour. I could’ve spent more but Bear put me on a budget. 😦
I found a few amazing pieces that I cannot wait to wear! Yippeeee!
It rained most of the day and all night and into the next day in Arizona.
It was super cold and not amusing.
I wore the same dress from my holiday party… I purchased it with the intention of wearing it for NYE and possibly my 35th birthday.
We had a great time, though the hotel we stayed at was sketchy. I was able to get a really nice photo in my raincoat. 😛
We were warmly welcomed by my colleague, her husband and friends. I quickly remembered to grab a bottle of my favorite hot sauce before running out the door. Bear made a few dishes while I took a nap.
Growing up in a Korean household, we never really celebrated it the “American” way. We had Korean food and had a party, maybe once in a while, we ordered from Boston Market, but that was as close to Thanksgiving growing up.
This year, we did not go to Kansas, therefore we had nothing to do. Bear insisted on cooking a two person meal for us… boy did I get lucky when my colleague invited us.
At the get together, we had all the fixings and everything was very yummy. If it had been just us two celebrating, he would have cooked Cornish hens with sides.
Another year has come around and I have so much to be thankful for. The new friendships, opportunities and milestones that have occurred in the past year has made me super grateful for my life. Though there are parts that can be better, I will forever cherish each memory and look forward to the future!
Last year was Veuve Champagne, this year I only have four places… Marie Nails, Yeana Beauty, Dr. In & Angel Dentistry.
I must say, I was the fattest I’ve been in New York on this last trip. My fat ass still ate like a pig and enjoyed my mini vacation. It’s crazy how often I’ve been going to NY and I’m always thinking about when I’m going to go back. I will say though, it is different with JL having a place of her own and now living with her bf.
I forgot how warm and disgusting NY gets in the summer. I’ve been so many times in the fall and winter that I didn’t expect the weather to be THAT unbearable. I plan to skip NY for the rest of the season and look forward to going back in the fall. However when I was editing my NY video, I realized how much fun I have with my gf JL and how much I already missed her. Being able to relive the moment through my videos are priceless and I’m so glad I picked up on this hobby even though I annoy most people with my camera in their face.
