Had a work trip for a week in Miami with the most amazing view! We stayed at the W Hotel in South Beach overlooking the ocean.
This trip was so good in terms of productivity and team bonding. What an honor to have been able to join alongside my executives to do some research, meet clients and watch my CEO speak on The Real Deal panel!
Also got myself a Starbucks Cold Cup with Las Vegas on it! I contemplated while I was in line and when I got to the register (30 minutes later cause it was so crowded), I asked someone to grab it from the end of the line. 😛
My dear friend Catalina happened to be in the city too. Her friend, now turned my friend Heather lives in Greenwich with her family so we took the Metro North for $10 from Grand Central Terminal with Tyler and stayed with them.
I have never seen a house so beautiful. We went out to dinner in Long Island and met other friends. Had many laughs over drinks and food. 🙂
I had decided to visit an old family friend in MD while I was in the city. We arrived to NY on Friday am after a red eye and we left for MD on the Amtrak on Monday at 4am out of Penn Station. I ended up falling asleep and missed my exit. Luckily the next exit was still close to my friend’s house so we had a wait a bit while she arrived.
Julia Gulia has been in my life before I actually met her. My mom and her mom were high school friends from Korea and when I was in 7th grade and when Julia was in 8th grade, we met in person. Since then we’ve been inseparable. We had a nine year hiatus while in our mid-20s to now but we picked up right where we left off.
We got into MD around 8am and left on Wednesday at 8pm. we had a great full three days in Bel Air and it was not enough.
We catched up, watched tv, played with the children, ate and repeated for three days. Tyler stayed home with us on the first day but on the 2nd and 3rd day, he went to the TKD studio with Julia’s husband. He had summer camp going on at his business so it worked out well! Tyler met new friends and was able to be active all day instead of being on his iPad playing Fortnite.
I was so sad to leave but exctied about our future meeting. Because as teens we saw each other every year (visiting one another from LA to VA) or sometimes twice a summer, we wanted to keep the tradition for our children. 🙂
I have never been to the UK. One thing on my bucket list was to go to Monaco for the Grand Prix but scheduling and $$$ was a factor. As a substitue, we ended up getting tickets to the Grand Prix in Silverstone, UK. We used the Fourth of July holiday to take the vacation while I was working and Bear was transitioning from his old job to his new one.
We stayed in Shepard’s Bush and went to Paris for a day. It was an exciting time since the UK had made it to the top something for World Cup. We got to experience London and Paris during the last final games of the World Cup. The energy was UNREAL.
The best part of the trip was the F1 race of course. My future ex-husband Lewis Hamilton did not win the race in his home country but he made it to 2nd on the podium after a bump right after takeoff.
I can’t wait to go to all the F1 races in the future!!!
As for London, I’m okay with never coming back. It was just another version of New York with mediocre food.
Headed to Chi-town this weekend for the first time in my life. It’s going to fucking cold.
I bought The North Face Women’s IC Nuptse Jacket over the weekend, well Bear did. I really wanted it and didn’t expect to see it at the store. It’s the polka dot one from the Olympics with the Korean flag on it! You’ll see on my social media this weekend.
It’s super cold so I also purchased some heattech items on Uniqlo, which I need to pick up at the Beverly Center this week. I am NOT trying to look cute this weekend. I just want to make sure I don’t come back sick and fat.
So I decided to wear the same outfit both nights in Vegas. #DJMK1200 was spinning at Jewel and Omnia so I was good to go. I wouldn’t be seeing anyone twice, except that this girl I met totally stalked me at Omnia on Saturday after I met her on Friday. She asked on Friday what I was doing, I said Mike was spinning at Omnia, she asked if she could come. I thought it was a bit weird since I just met her. I asked, you and who else? She said she was with five friends, I said probably not. WTF.
She ended up showing up anyway and I had to turn her away. There wasn’t space for her!
She probably recognized the shirt…
The shirt was a hit. Metallic buttonup from H&M. I got compliments from a lot of people. So did my heels.
This trip, I decided to drink and let loose a little bit more than usual. Typically, I’m well-mannered… I’m not sloppy, or too drunk, or dancing too much. I sit there like a princess, sipping on my drink and occasionally dancing.
I danced so much this weekend my thighs were sore on Sunday.
Friday night was Jewel @ Aria. @DJMK1200 opened and closed for #JustinCredible and we went to Palace Station Hotel and Casino for Oyster Bar after.
We both ordered the Pan Roast and took the rest home. It was unbelievbly delicious. The wait wasn’t as bad either from what people were saying. Typical wait time would be minimum 2 hours, even at 3:30am!
We waited maybe 20-30 minutes.
On Saturday, I slept all day. I was sleep deprived from going to the gym 3 days in a row at 5am so I needed it. Oppa was headlining at Heart of Omnia so we headed to the club around midnight.
Another fun night… had a 9am flight and arrived to Long Beach at 10am.
