It was the grand opening of the observation deck at #SkySpace #USBankTower in DTLA. I had it in my calendar months ago for the slide and about two weeks prior, I went on the site to get tickets. I wished I had a go pro but I didn’t need one at all. I was upset at the fact that we weren’t able to hold anything (phone) in our hands while sliding down. The cool part about it was that they took a photo of you coming down the slide. Just like at an amusement park! When we had all came down, we went to the kiosk to look at the photos. Of course, mine was the only one that wasn’t showing. They tried to mess with it for over 15 minutes and then I asked to speak to a manager. I nicely said, “I waited in line for over an hour and paid $30 to go down a slide and not be able to get a photo? I’d like to go down again.” He obliged and took me back to the slide, cut in front of the crowd and I got to go on again! This time, my photo came out! I was most appreciative of their accommodation and so happy that we as a family got to experience such an amazing part of our city. The space is beautiful and the views are breathtaking. Even my husband who’s scared of heights enjoyed the visit. I can’t wait to come again and go down the slide over and over again when there is no line!
Twice in one week… When you insist on having your wife take your car, please have the tank filled so she doesn’t have to go through the trouble of stopping by a gas station. After the tire incident this made me so furious again, in the am on my way to the office. In the am, I said I was going to take Maximus. He should’ve just let me take the Prius since I just filled up the tank the day before! He was super insistent on me taking Betty White. As soon as I got in the car, I freaking had fire coming out of my ears. Seriously. I hate things like this… and he knows it. I hope I got mad enough at him for him to remember never to do it again. 😛
So, we landed at LAX and when we got in our car, the tire light was on. That evening, we got home around 12:30am and had to go to the office the next day. That week, I needed to take Maximus because I was driving to Calabasas. When I got in my car, I was immediately annoyed. My husband, the “man” of the house should have taken car of this knowing that I was taking the car that week. He had a day or two to check on it. I mean… isn’t this why I got married? So I don’t have to do these things myself? Especially if he’s the last one that drove it?
I’ve really started to get in the hang of things, well the getting up and driving to the gym at 5am part. Not the stamina part. I am exhausted on the stairmaster in the ams and it may be the fact that I am so tired. I need to start going to bed earlier.
Right now, I go to bed anywhere around 10:45pm-11:15pm. It’s too late. So technically, I’m getting about 5-5.5 hours of sleep. This is when I start to think that I wish we never got rid of that twin bed for Tyler. I would totally sleep in another room or have Bear sleep elsewhere. He deters me from living my fitness filled life. Though he agrees to turn the tv off in the evenings, he always has to have a sour face about it and then be on his phone, and that screen in a pitch dark room is annoying. He has and never will wake up with me in the ams, which I find annoying too. I get it. He’s not that type of person but only because he has class in the evenings until 9:40pm? Well, to me that lazy and I hope that changes once he’s done. There are a lot of things I’m waiting to see in him once he graduates… and trust me, he knows.
So until then, I will wake up alone in the dark always, and do my own thing, he needs to catch up.
Dinner was amazing. I discovered this new (new for me) kbbq item and I fell in love. Now if all the places carried it, I would totally eat kbbq all the time. AND I hear it’s good for women. Watch the video and find out!
The school year is over for most but for Bear and I, we are still working towards our degrees. Bear is in school for his MBA, I think he’s the smartest bf I’ve ever had. I am in school for my Bachelor’s Degree. B.S. Communications. I have two more quarters to go and Bear… well… he has 1.5 more years to go. Maybe even two, but I want to round down. The class that is graduating had a party, so everyone in the MBA program was invited. I had just touched down from Vegas and wasn’t in the mood to drink, but I was in the mood for some tacos, which they were serving. I people watched all night while I tried to get Bear to go talk and mingle. He refused. He didn’t want to leave me in the corner with my phone and shoving my face with tacos. Either he thinks someone will sweep me away or he thinks I can’t shoo them away myself. Either way, he stuck to me like glue and wouldn’t network. Well, not as much as he could. His buddies in his class came by and said hello.
I also saw Eugene Lee Yang from BuzzFeed. I was super excited to meet him (went up and introduced myself) and gave him my card asking if there was an opening. 😛 He was nice (or acted really nice) and friendly. Didn’t realize he was a producer… etc. So cool. And he’s Korean. 🙂
We avoided traffic by stopping by #BeerBelly on a Friday evening. I must have thrown down 6 glasses of wine because at the end of the night, I couldn’t even pick up my water glass without spilling it! I forgot how much I loved this place, and with the cool street art mural, I had to take a photo!
