I hate that I have to go twice in one month. Why can’t I go once a month. This is really messing up my budget. It’s not like I do dishes so it gets ruined by the water. I’d really like to know how often other people go to get their nails done.
Being a girl sucks sometimes. Being a poor girl is worse I guess. 😛
Met a friend for a drink in Downey, his friends were going to a karaoke place so I decided to join! 😛 I was supposed to pack for Colorado but ended up coming home at 3:30am! It’s crazy how this generation of boys party. They go to karaoke to meet girls and NOT sing. They just put on their playlist from their phone and party in the room like a private club. I just drank and sang as many songs as I could and try to break the ice between the guys and girls. It was fun nonetheless, people watching. HAHAhHAhahah!
I bowed down to James for his birthday celebration at New York Manhattan Hotel in Koreatown in NYC since JL planned such a festive party!
The only thing I really wanted for my birthday was Shake Shack and to spend time with my gfs. JL knowing that she would not be able to provide me with Shake Shack due to our packed schedules, she had her bf’s friend bring it to the rooftop party for us! Thank you!!!
We hung out at the rooftop of NYMA hotel most of the day, drinking and laughing and making new friends. Seeing James and his friends made me think about the friends that I surround myself with. I wish I had a (large) group of friends that I could invite to one location and all hang out together but usually my friends all hang out separately. I have a few groups of friends but never in one location. One year, I will have them all and we will all have fun!
It was my golden birthday this year since I was turning 33. Yes, I know 33 is not a birth date but 6 is and the sum of 33 is 6. I was too young to know about golden birthdays so I figured this would be the perfect year!
Though my husband wasn’t with me, I made sure to facetime him and he also sent me a video message. 🙂
My birthday was under par but my visit was very delightful! I wouldn’t have had it any other way!
JL got her bf a custom cake and it was so fitting! Apparently his nickname is the character of the cake! 😛
I couldn’t help notice the slate gray/purple color scheme throughout the lobby. It had a modern feel without it looking uncomfortable.
The velvet booths were super cushiony and soft. The barstools could have used a little cushion. And definitely not enough purse hooks at the bar. If you’re a girl and have a purse you need to hang, sit at the corners of the bar.
The balloons apparently don’t need to get filled as often as I thought. Every two weeks!
At the bar with some “toy”. Skeptical about that title. JOh was ecstatic when she saw it in the acrylic containers sitting atop the bar.
She shrieked and wanted to sniff play with it. I’ve never seen it before. I was intrigued by it. Never even heard of it or saw anyone play with it during my childhood. Janie and JOh were ALL over it!
Look at what she did with it!
Janie’s work of art wasn’t so great. 😛
I had to take this shot because if I were the bar manager, I wouldn’t want my patrons seeing sweat marks on my employees. The bartender was awesome, CJ or JR or something. Two letters for sure, maybe they should wear a dark denim buttonup as oppose to a light wash?
Dinner table… one of the Jonas brothers sitting behind Janie.
My first time dining with #DishCrawl and my opinion of this event is that it is a great way to meet new people without alcohol having to be the main focus.
Well, maybe for me it still was, but I kept my composure and actually had conversations with the other guests.
I met so many new friends last night, ones I hope to see again at the next event.
I was introduced to it by Mini the ambassador for #DishCrawl #Koreatown and although most of the guests that attended was expecting Korean food, they all seemed happy to have enjoyed other fantastic cuisines offered in #Ktown.
I met a group of girls who were celebrating a friend’s 40th birthday. Two guys that were writers/producers for a network show, some bloggers and USC grads.
It was a great mix of people and an amazing turnout.
The food offered at each restaurant was portioned well and with variety.
I wish my appetite wasn’t so small that I could eat a lot more, but I guess this is the price I pay for wanting to be skinny. 😛
I tasted everything, ate more of the items I liked more.
Hello Italian was my favorite and it was sad to see that they weren’t that busy. I feel like the location is hidden and not visible to the public enough for it to be busy. Kind of like Chynna Dim Sum.
They apparently have a dinner special. Two entrees, one appetizer and a free bottle of wine for…I’m sorry I forgot how much.
They also have buy one bottle, get one free. Just how I like it! 🙂
Hope you get to check out the next DishCrawl next time!
Our first stop… such a cute place! Something you’d see in a Korean drama series.
I love mini bottles of champagne.
Walking down the steps from Hello~
Walking over to the second stop!
The manager explaining the dishes at #Concerto.
Waiting patiently for Bear…
Dinner time at Concerto~
Too bad I don’t have photos from #EscalaLA…
I couldn’t believe the transformation that it had gone through to make this place way more enjoyable! High ceilings and open floor plan with indoor/outdoor feel. Bohemien was a piece of crap and so not smart with utilizing their interior architectural design.
Good job to the Escala team for creating a great environment to want to hang out, eat, drink and be merry.
Now my only job is to go back and enjoy the food, for real this time.
I really enjoyed meeting new people and running into old friends. I even enjoyed overeating and overdrinking.
I can’t wait for the next one and I hope to throw an event like this in the future too!
